Calling all Stephen King fans, Hallowell locals, and community champions! We're gearing up for Stephen King Day 2025 on May 17, 2025, and we need YOUR help to make it a spooktacular celebration!
We’re forming a volunteer committee to bring this incredible event to life, and we’re looking for creative and dedicated volunteers from all walks of life. Whether you're a die-hard King fan or just love planning community events, there’s a place for you here!
What’s the commitment?
🗓️ Meetings: Twice a month (first meeting: January 9th at 6 PM at the Library).
🛠️ Additional involvement: As we get closer to the big day.
🌟 Volunteer period: January – May 18, 2025.
What will we do?
💡 Collaborate with local businesses to create Stephen King-themed events and offerings (think King-inspired cocktails, spooky tattoos, and more).
📚 Support library events like a King-inspired read-a-thon, a pet costume parade with prizes, and an adult costume contest.
🎭 Engage the community to celebrate literacy, creativity, and the works of Maine’s master of horror and suspense!
